Performance Declarations

In the performance declaration, which is part of the CE marking, the responsibility for the claimed properties is established. The declared product characteristics are thus linked to a manufacturer or importer.

A distributor, importer, or manufacturer must be able to present the performance declaration to an (end) customer. If desired, a paper copy can be provided.

A performance declaration specifies:

• The details of the manufacturer or importer;
• A product description, intended use, and scope of application;
• A reference to the applicable standard(s);
• The product performance and the basis on which it is established;
• The responsible party, accountable for the performance.
